Unless it's the version of 'I know Him So Well' as performed by John 'My Man Crush' Barrowman and Daniel 'He Plays Rod In Avenue Q' Boys, which is far better than the Elaine Paige version, and which I've thoughtfully provided for you here:

I know my Flist is full of Barrowman fans, so go on people, treat yourself!

I was really wanting to watch Grease 2 again after seeing the actor who plays Goose (Christopher MacDonald) in an episode of ST:TNG so I tried my usual online movie place but it wasn't there. After Googling it I came across a site called iSofa, which appears to pull clips from YouTube about your search (with good accuracy as well). So I was soon watching the videos of the music scenes from Grease 2 when I came across this:

It's obviously been done for a school project and some of the acting is atrocious but it's well done all the same. Highlights are the students who plays the teacher Mr Stuart (Tab Hunter) and Lorna Luft's character (Paulette).

Enjoy!

Apologies...

Haven't been around as much as I've had a couple of busy weeks getting ready at work for the new students who start arriving today. Another year filled with drunken antics to look forward to...not! At least I should have two fairly quiet nights this week (tonight and tomorrow night) as they are not all going to be here by then and won't know what's going on or available to them.

So what's happened recently? Well, I finally managed to get my mage character in World Of Warcraft to level 80, which means I can now start the long process of gaining achievements for all the instances and raids available and enter the Argent Tournament. I am planning on doing a piece about magecraft in the near future so hopefully someone new will read this blog as I don't think any of my current friends actually give two figs about WoW! :p

The contract for the house has been renewed for another year which means this place is turning into a world record for me! If we move out next September I will have been here for three years - the longest I've managed since I left my parents house back in 1998 is only 1.5 years. Finally put some pictures up in the living room and found a lamp so the living room now feels quite homely.

The Pon Farr May Come To An End...
niamh
[info]dclore
The Bigsy has a date this Friday...and is rather nervous!

I haven't actually ever been on a date (all my relationships have kind of just happened) so I have no idea what to expect and am not looking forward to 'small talk' - mainly because I'm crap at it!

Also, it feels kind of like I'm being forced into it (despite actually liking the wee lassy) because Christian allowed his drunken alter ego to interfere at karaoke on Tuesday night along the lines of yelling "just f*!k for Christ's sake at both of us (whilst we were standing next to each other). Talk about pressure, jeez!

I guess I'd better explain the Pon Farr reference for those non-Star Trek fans on the FList! The Vulcan race in Star Trek go through the Pon Farr every seven years where they are genetically forced to mate. I've been single for six years and all my friends (who are geeks) keep saying that I'm Vulcan because it's coming up towards seven years...this is it! This is why I'm single!

Anyway, what I'm asking for (and know I will get in abundance from [info]violetcreme even without asking for it :D) is ideas a) for the date which will probably be pub related and 2) some ideas for small talk...

So basically...

Wanna Touch My Body?

        One...We're Rollin!

My music taste has expanded yet again.

        Two...I Wanna Hear You Scream!

Again thanks to Eurovision.

Three...I'm Gonna Have A Rush Tonight!

Weirdly I'm gravitating towards Eurodance now.

        Four...Like You Have Never Seen!

Thanks to Waldo's People at Eurovision this year with 'Lose Control' I started listening to Eurodance and although it's not something I could listen to all the time, there are some amazingly uplifting songs available that really make you feel better when things aren't going well!

So I present two of them to you for your general mood upliftingness!

The first is 'Lose Control' by Waldo's People which has an extremely catchy chorus and deceptively simple but effective lyrics. [info]violetcreme is gonna hate it!

The second song is 'Love, Sex & Sunshine' by German Eurodance band, Mr. President. This is rapidly becoming one of my favourite songs of all time, and considering some of the songs at the top of my list, this is a big surprise!!! Insanely catchy all the way through awesome fun to watch the video, it even has a Steps style dance routine thrown in for good measure.

Look out for the crowd scene at 2:37 and tell me if that is actually Alan Cumming there or not?! Enjoy!

I apologise for not hiding the videos but the LJ Cut doesn't seem to like only having media under it and goes very funny and it annoys me that it's not doing what I want it to do!

Lyrics of the moment:

I know you wanna have love, love, love, sex and sunshine
I know you wanna have fun, fun, fun, but you are not the only one
I know you wanna have love, love, love, sex and sunshine

You wanna kiss me once
You wanna kiss me twice, ah ha ha
You wanna lick me up
Just like a bottle of ice
You take me to the beaches
You want me on the floor
No matter what I give to you
You will be screaming for more

I know you wanna have love, love, love, sex and sunshine
I know you wanna have fun, fun, fun, but you are not the only one
I know you wanna have love, love, love, sex and sunshine

Has anyone noticed that in the 'Sound Of The Drums' Dr. Who episode, when tThe Master is stood by himself on the tarmac just after Martha's family have been put aboard the plane for transfer to the Valiant, that his coat is being worn like a cloak with that fantastic red lining showing as it billows in the wind? Very good throw back to the 70's Dr. Who episodes when The Master actually used to wear a cloak that had (I think) a red lining!

Just thought I'd point it out and share this awesome picture I found of The Master declaring his love of a certain sweet!

Lyrics of the moment:

"I can't decide
Whether you should live or die
Oh, you'll probably go to heaven
Please don't hang your head and cry
No wonder why
My heart feels dead inside
It's cold and hard and petrified
Lock the doors and close the blinds
We're going for a ride

Oh, I could throw you in the lake
Or feed you poisoned birthday cake
I wont deny I'm gonna miss you when you're gone
Oh, I could bury you alive
But you might crawl out with a knife
And kill me when I'm sleeping
That's why

I can't decide
Whether you should live or die
Oh, you'll probably go to heaven
Please don't hang your head and cry
No wonder why
My heart feels dead inside
It's cold and hard and petrified
Lock the doors and close the blinds
We're going for a ride"

Twitterless...
katrina
[info]dclore
What exactly is the point of Twitter? I've had an account for a few months now because Miss C said it was awesome! I find it utterly pointless. I don't really want to know what someone is thinking of to the second they thought it and I find that it's far too much effort to keep checking the posts (even with an addon like TwitterFox to do it through). Facebook updates are much better as at least you can tell when you've replied to the post, whereas with Twitter you have to look at a replies list or that stupid little '@' sign next to someone's name. It's not even pretty or logical, and for someone who's anal about logical flow, it offends on the deepest level! Plus, I've never really been into this whole celebrity stalking thing...

So my account is gone. Good riddance to pointless rubbish!

Don't know how many of you out there appreciate a well played guitar solo but I thought I'd post this after 'stumbling' on it a few minutes ago. Not only is the young lady in question kinda hot, she's also insanely good at what she does! Sounds sexist, but I've never seen this done as well by a woman before!
Amazing... )</div></div></div>
And now one from the boys! This is Emir Hot doing a rock ballad style guitar solo (improvised). Love some of the themes he brings in on this!

And now for something completely stupid! Keyboard cat!!!

Lyrics of the moment:

"Close your eyes and see my blue skies breaking through these dark clouds
You are the light
In my mind I see your red dress and your arms are reaching through the night
I'll never give up the fight
I'll go the distance"

Africa...
forgive
[info]dclore
Hello everybody - found this on Stumble and thought that everyone deserved to see it. It is a choir performing 'Africa' by Toto. It's unusual however in that there are no instruments used in the entire performance (the drums are provided by a beat-boxer - a very good one as well as I forgot that it wasn't a human making the sounds).

Not only do they do the entire song but they also do the rain, wind and thunder effects with their bodies before the song and the entire thing really does sound like a storm brewing and then exploding in thunder. Genius orchestration and well put together and performed. All of the harmonies are present including a wonderful female descant towards the end.

Watch the entire thing because it really is amazing!

Mount Kilimanjaro This Way... )
Lyrics of the moment:

"The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside
Frightened of this thing that I've become...

80's TV Rocks!

[info]dclore
I'd forgotten how many great TV shows Donald P. Bellisarius was responsible for! Take a look:

Airwolf
Battlestar Galactica
JAG
Magnum P.I.
NCIS
Quantum Leap

He has to be one of the most creative and dynamic show creator/producers alive today! This also leads on nicely to another amazing show creator called Glen A. Larson, who shares creative and writing credits for the original Battlestar Galactica with Bellisarius. Mr. Larson was Bellisarius' mentor and therefore responsible for bringing us more shows than Larson, such as:

Battlestar Galactica
Buck Rogers In The 25th Century
Knight Rider
Magnum P.I.
Manimal
Quincy M.E.
Team Knight Rider
The Fall Guy
The Six Million Dollar Man

The Tale Of The Fish And The...Penis
bigsy
[info]dclore
Yes, you heard correctly. Sounds bizarre, yes? Well it is! This is the original story:

www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,,24353334-5012895,00.html

What concerns me is that he was holding the fish whilst he was cleaning the tank...and then he went to the toilet (with the fish)...and then the fish went into his penis...while he was urinating? What was it? A freaking salmon?! He was urinating people! If water was coming out of his penis how the hell did the fish get up there against the flow?

I think the parents and the boy might have lied little bit to the papers - just so their kid didn't look like a sexual pervert! Now I've got nothing about sexual pervasion but a fish? Come on - at least make the lie credible!!

I really hope it was worth it!

Blossom Rocks!

I was going to do a long pastiche filled look at Blossom and gush about how great it is...but it's 02:30 am and I'm tired and at work and can't really be arsed. Therefore I have just two things to say:

a) It is my favourite sitcom of all time (beating Friends, Red Dwarf, Scrubs etc. etc.) - I've just watched the entire first season (well over the last few days anyway) and it's amazing!

And

b) Jenna Van Oÿ (who plays Six) got incredibly hot as she got older!!

Oÿ Vey! )

Lyrics of the moment:

"Don't know about the future
That's anybody's guess
Ain't no good reason for getting all depressed
Buy up your pad and pencil
I'll give you a piece of my mind
In my opinionation
The sun is gonna surely shine

Stop all your fussin'
Slap on a smile
Come out and walk in the sun for awhile

Don't fight the feeling
You know you want to have a good time
And in my opinionation
The sun is gonna surely shine"

Most Of You Know Me But It's Been A While...
bigsy
[info]dclore
So it's time for an introduction to little old me for the new dawn in the Age Of Bigsy!

Here goes!

My name’s Jon and I’m considered (by most) to be slightly unusual. I’m a security officer by day and a songwriter by night – wait a minute, that analogy doesn’t work…

I’ll start again! I’m employed as a security officer (read – general dogsbody) which actually involves both day and night work so my body clock is so out of whack I have no idea who or what I am a lot of the time. This fits in nicely with my image as most people don’t know what to make of me the first time they meet me, especially if I’m doing something they consider to be a little odd. My job involves doing the usual things that a security officer would do (patrols, locking up buildings, breaking up fights, dealing with student issues etc.) but it also involves, among other things, being a postman, a maintenance person, a gardener, a porter, a receptionist and all round general ‘Oh, we’ll get Security to do that pointless job we can’t be arsed to do’ type person! More on this later no doubt – I am desperately seeking more gainful employment.

So I’ve covered what I do, but what am I? Well, I’m fat (but losing weight). I’m funny (in an understated way). I'm friendly (in a big puppy kind of way) and normal fairly frisky (but enough on that)! I’m usually found playing on World of Warcraft (lots more on this later) or writing songs on my keyboard or guitar. I actually reached the semi-finals of the UK Song Writing Contest with two songs so I am looking for a win at some point! Currently writing songs with a mate who, when I can prise him away from his girlfriend/lover/limpet, has the most amazing voice I’ve heard (even better than The Barrowman) but also has a disturbing, drunken alter ego called Rodrigo.

Now for a bit about what I will be doing here. I’ve been a blogger before but quickly got bored of it. However, I didn’t really have much to blog about when I was younger, but now that I’m older (and more cantankerous) I feel the world needs to hear my voice! I’ll be talking about all sorts of things; money, music, song writing, World Of Warcraft, Eurovision, health, things that strike me as funny or stupid and all that sort of jazz!

So hello and welcome to the new 100% Bigsy blog where I’m sure you’ll be amazed a lot of the time…or at least left shaking your head in disbelief...or disgust!

Lyrics of the moment:

“Tonight a thousand angels fall
Heaven’s up against the wall
Changes holding sway
We can make you anyone
By the morning we’ll be gone
The ministry of saints”

- Edguy (2009)

I am still here people - never fear! I've just had the crappest week at work. Not because it's been bad co-worker wise. it's just been so busy I haven't even gotten to sit a computer for more than ten minutes!

So quick run down of what's been going on with this not so little dragon:

1) I made cheesecake - which tasted okay and people liked it but it did leave a very strong cream cheese aftertaste. Need to make it sweeter!
2) Had more of my tattoo done and it looks awesome enough that I'd swear if this wasn't a family blog (it's not really but I'm not up to swearing tonight). It now looks like a huge space dragon coming out of a vortex to attack the starship Voyager or something!
3) Still haven't done any songwriting but I must, must get on with that tomorrow.
4) Will be entering some writing competitions to see what's what.
5) Have played entirely too much Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and now I can't feel my shoulders!

And to end - I'll be posting some pics of the tattoo soon hopefully. And I'll leave you with this because it's awesome:

Heaven Is Up Against The Wall
bigsy
[info]dclore
Since I left LJ in early 2007 my music tastes have meandered towards the metal side of the tracks. This was mainly due to Lordi (Finnish metal band) winning the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with the fantastic 'Hard Rock Hallelujah'. I am therefore now very much into metal bands like Sonata Artica, Apocolyptica, Edguy, Lordi, Within Temptation and so on. I find that a lot of people really don't get the whole metal genre (and I have to say I don't get the death metal stuff that contains screaming and the like). However, the type of metal usually known as Power Metal (or what I call Melodic Metal), usually contains some of the most amazing lyrical themes and beautiful & interesting tunes. The musicians all tend to be graduates of music academies (Apocalyptica being the best case in point - the band consists of three professional cellists who all graduated from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland) or at least have an expansive musical background brushing on most mainstream music types.

I am currently listening to the new Edguy album (Tinnitus Sanctus) which came out this week and it is this that has prompted me to spout off on metal. Just hearing new songs being sung by a genius like Tobias Sammet (lead singer of Edguy - they are a German metal/rock band) puts such a big grin on my face. The new songs are very much like the songs he wrote for his on-going side project Avantasia,: very expressive lyrics based mainly on the struggle between good and evil/heaven and hell with some fantastic tunes to boot!

I enclose an example below: Ministry Of Saints - Edguy

My green, plant nurturing skills are obviously improving! I bought a spider plant about 9 months ago and killed it within two weeks. However, I have now kept a money plant and a bamboo plant alive and well for over three months now. Of course this may have nothing to do with my skills but more to do with the fact that you could put both of these plants in the heart of the sun and they still wouldn't die!

Max Payne = Max Pain
bigsy
[info]dclore
To paraphrase the beloved Janice from Friends: OH MY GOD!

I thought I'd lived (and I use the term loosely) through some bad films but the benchmark was well and truly lowered ast night! The worst movie I'd seen ever before last night was the American remake of 'Dark Water'. While it wasn't a bad film persay, it went nowhere and after an hour or so we'd turned it off and nicknamed it 'The Bad Plumbing Movie' because honestly; that's all that happened - a sink overflowed and caused a watermark on the ceiling!

But, ladies and gentlemen, Max Payne has truly outshone the above movie as the biggest pile of dogshit ever to come out of Hollywood. I'd rather sit through a 24 hour marathon of Uwe Boll movies (mainly because you can at least laugh at them)! This wasn't only a terrible film version of a computer game, but it was just a terrible film. There was a plot...actually it was more like a twisted children's story (it was so pathetically written - actually that's probably a disservice to children's stories), about a bad drug that turned 1% of those who took it intoraging killing machines and the rest into junkies who saw devils with wings flapping about the place. The story concerning Detective Pain was about his dead wife and baby, killed by his best friend some years earlier because she was linked to the drug thing.

I apologise now, if my description of the plot is dull and lack-lustre, but to be honest, I can't be arsed to write about it, it was that dull. Sat there with Simon and Christian, we spent most of the movie pointing out how crap it was, how unlike the game it was in all respects and how Mark Wahlberg should be shot (actually that was just my opinion - but I've yet to see him in a good film). The characters were all badly portrayed, the acting was generally dire, Natasha (Olga Kurylenko) was hot and probably the most convincing thing in the movie, which is a pity as she was only in it for ten minutes before getting dismembered by a really bad actor. I spent most of the movie thinking that Family Guy would be a much better show than it already is if they just had Mila Kunis naked on screen instead of Meg (she does the voice of Meg for those who don't know). Then I got on to what I'd like to do to Mila Kunis but the less said about that the better I think...

So, anyway, there were only three good parts to the film. 1) the special effects - which were good and consistent although stle shamelessly from Constantine (which is an awesome movie), 2) the end credit sequence was quite fun (lots of different guns being used in CGI and finally 3) the end of the movie.

And to the movie reviewer who said that Max Payne is Mark Wahlberg's answer to Jason Bourne? Go and flush your head down the toilet because that's where you belong: in the sewers with this miserable piece of shit film!
